WELCOME TO THE LFME

World Class Medical Treatment

The Longitudinal Family Medicine Experience (LFME) provides learners with an early, supportive, and practical introduction to primary care in Canada. Through supervised clinical exposure, students gain hands-on experience with patients and observe how family medicine functions in real practice environments.

About Our Program

Learners will complete 12 hours of clinical placement in a community-based family medicine clinic or another primary care or specialty setting, depending on availability. Placements may include specialties such as psychiatry, diabetology, cardiology, dermatology, and others. These hours are typically scheduled across several half-day sessions throughout the academic cycle.

Although participation is optional, it is highly encouraged as it helps students build confidence, practice clinical skills, and become familiar with outpatient care workflows.
